The Battle of Pearl Harbor

The worst attack on US home soil up until the 9/11 attacks, Pearl Harbor was a major victory in WWII for Japan, destroying and damaging most of the US naval fleet. The dive bombers, torpedo bombers, and fighters that Japan set out sank 18 US warships. Here are some of the planes that sank all of those ships. the Aichi D3A Val, one of Japan’s best dive bombers, the Nakajima B5N, A torpedo bomber with armor piercing bombs and at pearl harbor, there were 40 holding a type 91 Thunderfish torpedo, that had a wooden box thing attached to it, and Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter-bombers, fast and furious. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked. Most people at the harbor were completely unaware about what was going to happen. Then, the sky was filled with planes. Most crew members thought it was just a drill! Right after the USS Nevada played the star spangled banner, the deck got blasted with gunfire. They then realized that this was no drill. That’s when they saw the Japanese rising sun barred on all of the planes. All those planes devastated the American fleet. It was an All-time loss for the US, and a major victory for Japan. Then, the US declared war, fought, dropped nuclear bombs, and won WWII. And that’s the story of Pearl Harbor.
