The Heinkel He 177 was Germany’s one and only long range heavy bomber, dropping up to 13,228lbs of bombs. With a maximum speed of about 317mph, this bomber was originally supposed to drop bombs on Soviet factories, but it did not do so well because of its two 2700hp Daimler-Benz DB 60624-cylinder engines. Those engines were not the best choice, if you ask me, but I guess that the Luftwaffe wanted some good engines (at the time, they thought those engines were good!). The reason that the engines were bad was because they had countless inflight fires, and had to be repaired tons of times! Well, as you just read, the 177 was not the best, but at least it had a lot of variants! 7 in total! Well, time for the dimensions. The wingspan was about 103ft, and it was about 66ft long.
