General Dynamics F16 Fighting Falcon VS. McDonnell Douglas F/A18 Hornet

This versus post is a conversation between me and my brother, and it’s 2 modern fighter jets, and if you haven’t chimed in for a while, this is how a versus post works. I take 2 planes and I tell you the pros and cons of them. Now, the 2 planes today are the General Dynamics F16 Fighting Falcon, and the McDonnell Douglas F/A18 Hornet. Let the battle of thought begin! Now, let's start with the F16. As me and my friend Max can say, the F16 would probably win in a fight between the both of them. And, a F16 is also about 540mph faster than the hornet. And, the F16 does not need as much repairs if there is an engine problem, because it only has one engine! But the cons are: it is (I think) about 5 years older than the Hornet, and it can’t fit on an aircraft carrier as well as the Hornet. Wait! There's more! The F16 can’t hold as many weapons as the Hornet. And that’s it for the F16. Now, Onto the F/A18! Now, the Hornet is one of the best combat aircraft, and can carry, like I said, more weapons than the Fighting Falcon. The total difference between the two is 4,800lbs. The F/A18 is also able to fit on an aircraft carrier really well, because it has folding wings. It goes 1,118mph, and can hold up to 20,000lbs of bombs and missiles. Well, on to the cons. The F18 had some problems, like how it was usually around 300 to 500 mph slower then most aircraft at the time, including the F16! It also had poor maneuverability, it was underpowered, and it didn't have good hardpoints, compared to other modern fighters. Well, that’s it for this versus post , and here is the winner for the F111 VS Panavia Tornado. Drumroll please… the F111! It was close but I figured out that the Aardvark was better than the Panavia Tornado. Well, the answer for this post will get to you on the next VS post! Thanks for reading!
