Retired in 2006, this swing-wing fighter jet was used for all-weather air superiority, fleet defense, and, most recently, precision strikes against ground targets. This interceptor was mainly used as a navy plane, and earned its audience from the 1986 film “top gun”. It could catch speeds over 1,500 mph in about 90 seconds! I think it was one of the most potent interceptors of the 20-21st centuries. On its maiden Flight, everything went well. But, on its second flight, everything went wrong. It crashed on its second flight. But, the F14 tomcat was one of the best fighter jets in the 20-21st centuries. And, sadly, most of these fighters were shredded into pieces so that Iran couldn’t take any of them. Well, the F14 tomcat was one of the most potent, fast and agile interceptors of the jet age.
