Eurofighter Typhoon

Updated: Sep 30, 2021

Still hasn’t been retired, the multi role Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet is used in several European countries. First flown in 1994, the jet proved successful. The customer requirement was 250 for the UK and Germany, 165 for Italy, and 100 for Spain. That’s a lot of fighter jets! With a top speed of about 1,321 mph, this fighter was fast. Its two 20,250 pound Eurojet EJ200 turbofans gave it that speed. Now the Austrians wanted them! Their Air Force ordered 35 jets. On June 30, 2003, the RAF got its first Eurofighter Mk1. Now the Germans, UK, Spain, Italy, and Austria had them! That’s actually a lot of jets! Well, its span is 35 ft, and its length is 47 ft, and there you have it. The Eurofighter Typhoon.
